I'm doing some time elapsed photography and want to combine the hundreds/thousands of jpgs into a video.

Ideally the program should also be able to resize the jpgs accordingly etc!?

Anyone recommend an application to do this. Ideally free :)

Windows movie maker is part of the MS Live installer now (same thing you need for MSN Messenger now called Live Messenger) along with a bunch of other stuff.

Just in case people didn't know :)

I'll take a look! Ta!

EDIT: Do you mean VirtualDub?

Virtualdub rings a bell... I used something like this years ago when I made some CS movies. You had to record demos and then the only way to make good quality movies was to export lots and lots of still images to be compiled to avi after.

Erm... Yes...:o I always type it wrong!

The only issue is (AFAIK) you can't change the resolution of the image>video, but then it's fairly easy either way, either resize the images first or import the exported video into another program and resize the video there.*

*Or you may well be able to do it in VirtualDub...

i use Startrails
it's free and gives the option for stacking the images or creating a video :)

I have used startrails before and like it a lot (especially for actual star trails) however it won't create HD videos as far as I could see.

If you have Lightroom, then you can try this. Does all the work for you and then exports your video. I tried it yesterday and it works brilliantly
