Windows Boot issues

Windows 10 installed an update today. Booted - applied settings no problem. Put in password - started loading. Got BSOD - page fault in non paged area (I get this a lot).

Reboots - nothing. Flashing cursor in top left of screen. Tried to reboot a number of times and getting the same. No recovery, nothing. F8 doesn't invoke safe mode. Just can't get past anything.

At a total loss other than making a system disk of my other machine.

It's really odd that it isn't even starting the Windows recovery mode. The boot drive is visible in BIOS so I am thinking corrupt boot sector following the BSOD and maybe the update not being fully applied?

Hi.

I managed to sort it with a system disk burned off my other machine.

I think the BSOD stopped the update from completing and for some reason it just failed to enter recovery mode. Used CD to get into recovery and it repaired the failed update and booted.

Very odd.
