Hi all

Just wondered if anyone can help me with a very weird problem.

I can boot a linux cd and install it no problem.
I can boot a windows vista dvd and install it no problem.
I can boot a windows xp 64bit cd and install no problem.

However, for some reason, and ive tried this with 3 xp discs, i cannot boot a windows xp 32 bit cd?

It gets to the part where it says 'windows is inspecting your hardware' or whatever it is then just seems to stick on a black screen. So basically i dont get to the blue coloured installation screens.

Any thoughts

Regards

Fixed the problem. It was simply because of the amount of partitions on the hard drive. Removed them all and it booted the 32bit xp disc.

It had 2 NTFS partitions, one for vista and the other for backup. Then it also had a hidden partition for system restore and a partition for linux.

Im assuming that all the OS's i mentioned in the first post booted fine because they were newer releases.
