I've just bought a new computer and for the last few days the time in the bottom corner of the screen changes somewhat sporadically. It always jumps to about 90mins-2 hours into the 'future' (never goes too slow), despite my attempts to change it back.
I started scouring the net for solutions and tried downloading a Microsoft Fix It program called 'Mats_Run.TimeZones', but it wouldn't work due to this error: 0x80092003. I changed the time back to normal on Windows, and then checked the BIOS. The time was fine, but when I booted it up again, the time eventually went off again. Note that the time doesn't gradually go out of sync, but rather at once. So, I decided to keep the false time and check BIOS again - the time was wrong and so I changed it and saved the settings. So far (after 15 minutes) the time has remained correct, but I'm not so confident it will stay that way. Does anybody have any suggestions?
It may also be necessary to inform you that when I first got the PC, the monitor wouldn't recognise the desktop, and I was advised to try removing the battery on the motherboard for roughly 15 minutes, and then reinserting it. I'm thinking now that this may have damaged the battery.
Here's some of my spec in case it's of any relevance:
AMD Phenom II X4 995 Processor 3.20 GHz
Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UDH2 AM3 Socket (BIOS version F5)
Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit)
