I just started receiving this error from windows on my primary hdd with my windows 7 installation on it. I ran HDTune and this is the result:

It's this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-082-SA&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=1279. I didn't purchase it for myself, I was given it for xmas a year ago.

I literally just has to upgrade my mobo/cpu/ram after the mobo or cpu went wrong. Could that have screwed with my HDD or is this a problem that could have been created by me fiddling with all my stuff. Or is the drive just kaput?? I've never had a failure before so it's all new to me.

Ok so from refusing to believe I have been **** on to the point that EVERYTHING in my computer wanted to die on me, I quickly swapped SATA cable and Power cable of the HDD just to make sure...

Now HDTune is showing 74 in the current column of the spin up time, obv. its still red because it stored the low point of 2.

Could this be due to a dodgy SATA power connector or data cable to the mobo? I damn well hope so I'm too poor to be spending more than the 450 odd quid that has escaped my wallet over the last week.
