Windows Error Code 0x490

Hi Guys,

My mate is having this error code coming up with his PC when he turns it on. The PC starts up as normal, then it goes to windows repair mode. It then says that it has failed to find the OS loader. Any kind of repair doesn't work.

This is on W7 Home premium.

Any Ideas guys?

I would probably try a clean install. Failing that grab the relevant diagnostic utility for the HDD and check the drive for issues.

Thanks for the help guys.

He tried all the commands etc to try and fix the issue but none of those worked so he had to (much to his annoyance) re-install windows which has fixed the issue.
