When booting my notebook this poped up. I need help. How do I fix it? I cant restore itbecause I will lose coursework thats due in tomorrow and it's very important!!!

help!!!

An option in error recovery should be to leave your applications and data alone. If not then you'll have to remove the disk and attach it to another PC to copy the data files.

Andi.

I'm not going to mention the B word.

I cant attach the hard drive to a PC because it's a notebook hard drive.... Or can they be compatable?

If it is a SATA HDD then the plugs are the same for a normal 3.5inch SATA youd find in a PC. If it is a crappy IDE jobby, you will need an adapter.

EDIT: Alternatively you could grab a Linux live CD - such as Linux Mint - and copy your data from the drive to USB or over the network. A live CD runs off the CD and RAM - no data is written to hard disk, so is a totally safe way to read the contents of your HDD. :)

Thanks for the idea. I'll do next time LOL :)
This time I just restored it. I didn't lose too much. But I plan on building a PC now, So if it does happen again I'm not totally screwed.
