WINDOWS folder in Vista showing date different to the date I installed?

Hi,

For some reason the creation date for my Windows folder is Nov 06 when in fact I only installed Vista 3 months ago.

Any ideas how I can check the date I actually obtained the folder, I like to have to creation date of the folder correct so I can check the age of the installation.

If the above isn't possible, is there any way to check the age of this installation?

Must be normal.

Check the creation date of your Documents folder for the date of installation.

Yup, 02/11/2006 14:33:54 - must have been when the Windows dev team created it

vista installation is unpacking an image, it doesn't create the folders like in previous os's

try the file C:\windows\setuperr.log

that might be the right date

The date on C:\Users\Craig\ is the correct one

I'm running a Dell OEM with has been V-lited, if this affects anything (can't see how it does...)

If you want to find out the install date, why don't you just run, CMD then enter: systeminfo

The install date will be there.
