Windows 7 has the wonderfully organised ‘games explorer’ that displays a nice boxart image, information about the game, when it was last played etc, however does it?

Half the time you install a game and the game simply doesn’t list and its not easy to add your games either.

Steam only works for games purchased on Steam and to be honest I’m getting a little tired of games having clients for this, launchers for that, explorer folders that aren’t updated correctly.

What we need is a program like XBMC where it organises and sorts your collection for easy cataloguing and launching..

Is there such a product for Windows and games organising.. I’ve got gigs of games installed but wouldn’t it be nice to have a catalogue of these titles in one easy to find place..

Steam can have games added but if they aren’t steam games or games purchased from Steam is a bit limited.

You can add any game as a shortcut to Steam. You get the benefit of the overlay with chat, screenshots, browser etc.

Works wonderfully. :p What more features were you after?

There are a few instant messenger clients for gaming, the most popular are xfire and raptr.

They let you talk to people ingame and also have the feature of cataloguing all the games they find on your pc so you can launch them directly from the interface.

I personally find raptr the better option for your needs as xfire failed to find a few of my more "obscure" games whereas raptr seems to have a much broader database.

You can effectively ignore the messenger part of the program and just use it as a games archiver.
