Have installed windows 8.,1 on a new ssd but after the installation on the ssd it keeps going back to install from the beginning:"select language keybpard input" etc.
I have tried going into cmd but not entirely sure what to do.?

what are you installing 8.1 from, a USB stick?

the reason its doing this is because after the install is done and the PC reboots its trying to boot from the device which has the windows 8.1 install on and not the SSD. so if its a USB stick once you have installed windows 8.1 reboot the PC and tell the PC to boot from the SSD

if it is a USB stick disconnect it and it will boot from the SSD instead

that's ok, so what is happening is in the BIOS the first boot device in the CD drive.

on my PC I don't have one so my first boot device is my SSD.

take the CD out and reboot the PC and see if this works as then it will not find any CD to boot from and then move on to the SSD

so just to make sure I am understanding this right.

you install windows 8.1 from CD, after its installed the PC reboots and then goes through the same process again from the first install?

sorry I cant be much more help, I have not had any dealings with X99 or X79 systems with UEFI

I take it you cant get in to windows at all as its stuck on a install loop?

Exactly. I havent seen anything like this before unless the ssd is faulty?

Right I installed it and chose my ssd as first priority. It loaded to a black screen:However i pressed f8 at start up and chose the ssd and i loaded windows. Whats the reason for this???
