Hello, just after a bit of advice.

Im trying to format/install my partners laptop with a authentic ;) copy of windows vista 32bit, I have tried two different copys now.

I enter the boot menu, set to boot from DVD-Rom, it accepts, disc spins up and says press any key to boot from DVD...... then nothing! obviously i have tried pressing everykey on the latop, variations of entering the disc at different times and reboots etc.

I have also tried exploring the disc and running setup via windows explorer.

one of these procedures normally works, feeling a bit stupid at the moment and cant believe im having trouble with such a simple thing! Please..... no cheap shots! lol :)

Bit random that the 'press any key' isnt working. Have you tried with an external keyboard and checking the USB options in the BIOS

No, ill give that a go. Had considered an external dvd rom, though that would require a purchase... Thanks for the idea. Il get back asap.

odd one that it wont work off the keyboard, have you looked to see if "legacy support fro USB Keyboards" is enabled in the bios? some times this causes problems.

Also have you tried installing from a USB flash drive??
