Windows live

Ive still got the same old hotmail emails, i went back to MSN 7.0, i assume its not live, as its always been like that for donkeys, even under 7.5, and ive got a green button in there to click to get a live one, but it can bugger off. :p

I suppose I'm a create of habit and I don't like being forced into new things. I don't like the way it looks and it doesn't save the mail the way it used to. I was happy with the old way and would have preferred to stay using that.

I'm similar to a degree, I've heavily modded Live! messenger to strip it of damn near everything other than the ability to send messages (i dont want display pictures, "sharing folders", nudges, winks, voice clips, webcams, games, etc etc etc), but when it comes to the mail system, Live! is much more corporate in its approach.

The contacts management is vastly superior, the folder and email management is superior, but as you say its either all or nothing for "sent items". Simple solution, have it save them all and manually delete ones you dont wan't to keep after you send them.

I agree with you on that. I have enough problems deleting my inbox without deleting sent messages too though. I recently went through 18 pages of emails.

What mods do you use? I like the sound of that.

Mess patcher from www.mess.be. I pretty much just ticked all of the options available that removes stuff (some options add things), and the end result is a contacts window with nothing except my contacts, an "add contacts" button, a "hotmail" button, and a "sign out" button!

Bliss!

Dont understand the issue myself. I love the way Live! mail is now similar to 2003/2007 OWA, drag & drop is great.

Only downside so far for me on Live! services is that it now FORCES you to download your MSN messenger address book to your phone if you use Live! messenger on your Windows Mobile powered phone :(

What use is a phonebook full of Instant Messenger addresses , oh and if you delete them from your phone, it deletes them from MSN!!!!!

Im deffo not on live then, can't do drag an drop or nowt, im on MSN hotmail still. :p

Does anyone know how to re-send sent emails? (in sent email folder)

On the old hotmail you could send an email, save it and then if you felt you had the need to re-send the email you would click on the email you send and just click send at the top - and it would send as if you had just re-written it.

I cant seem to do that with Windows Live, anyone know how to?

I'll have a look there then. I need to clear down my msn list too, reminds me seeing yours, I have far too many people on it that I never speak to.

How are you still on the normal one? Wish I was :(

Downloaded MSN 7.0, but before installing it, selected the properties of it, and changed it to windows 2000 compatability, then i installed it, then once its installed it does an auto repair, but it works. :)

Only thing i have to do is when i restart my PC, i have to run the installer again, as when it trys to sign in it says i have to get the newer version, but just running the installer again makes it work again, 2 second job so im not complaining, long as i dont have to use live. :D

I'll try that in the morning as I'm off to bed now, here's hoping it works :)

What's wrong with Live Messenger once it's been patched to remove ads, etc.? I think people are just complaining for the hell of it.

Not me, I complain when I don't like something, I don't have time to sit and think up things to moan about :p

Any joy Jodie ?

I completely forgot to try it :p I have a terrible memory since having children lol, must try and remember to do this tomorrow. I usually get people to email/text me things that I need to remember these days as my memory is so useless. :p

Hey guys,

Just wondering if this possible at all? I'm guessing its not which is annoying to need to re-do the email and send rather then clicking send like on the old hotmail :(

I've got a mate who installed windows mail on an XP machine but now wants outlook express back. However, he seems to think there is no option to uninstall windows mail?

Is this true? Or is it difficult to uninstall?
