Windows log-on

Just installed windows and it has gone to the log-in page - the only two users are the ones I specified.

I have yet to assign passwords etc to these users and cannot access windows through them yet.

There is no administrator log-in and during set-up I was not prompted to set-up an administrator - what's gone wrong and how do I correct it?

Thanks

Nic

I'd've thought if you'd added the users then the passwords will be blank. Is it not letting you in by just clicking them?

Hitting Ctrl + Alt + Del will bring back the classic logon prompt, and you can then log in as administrator (providing the lack of prompts means lack of password!)

If I click on the users it asks for passwords - but I haven't set any up ! Nothing works ie leaving password blank.

How can I log-on as an administrator if I haven't yet given the administrator a password?

grrrr......Do I have to reinstall??

Thanks

Nic

Once you have pressed ctrl+alt+delete at the logon screen just enter a username of "administrator" and leave the password blank.
From there you can reset the other users' passwords

If that doesn't work I guess you are going to have to reinstall or get a password recovery cd

just press ctr + alt + del as csmager

and it will come up with old login promt then type in administrator and try blank password

** edit beaten :P

You have to press Ctrl+Alt+Del twice in quick succession for it to change from the fast logon screen to the normal logon screen.
