I installed IE7 RC1 not long ago and it won't let me view videos that need the wmp plugin.

I was having problems with flash so i reset IE7 and it messed everything up and i had to re-enable all the add-ons.

It seems everything is ok now but i can't remember if the wmp plugin worked on IE7 when i first installed it and now it keeps coming up with the 6.4 Player Shim control thing and i don't even think i need that. Should i just uninstall and reinstall again or just go back to IE6?

I'm trying to view the videos on Evanescence.com
 
By shim do you mean that Windows Media player looks like v6.4 because your now using the classic or corporate skin ? If that's the case, just reset the Windows Media player 9/10 skin back to default.
 
I'm using WMP 10. Somethings wrong with the wmp plugin to view videos embedded on websites.

I don't know if it's because i reset IE7 or because i cleaned the registry but i backed the registry up and it still didn't fix it :(

Edit : Hmm... it's got "not verfied" next to windows media player activex control when i check the addons menu in IE7.

Do i just fix try and repair or un/reinstall? Maybe something else i can do to fix it???

Man that stupid thing is so annoying. I'm giving up now it sounds like i have to rollback to IE6 but i don't know if i should. Is RC1 even a real release i don't know much about what a RC is? :S

I found the error code "C00D11CD" i don't know if anyone can help me but it seems this is related to IE6 aswell. Has anyone else encountered this or rolledback because of this error on IE7?
 
I used to use this but then i went back to IE but i can't remember why hehe...

It does look really tempting and also thunderbird does aswell.

I'll probably go for it when version 2 comes out unless microsoft can persuade me otherwise.
 
seriously firefox with the extentions i said makes it 10x better than ie straight away, NO ads at all, but usefull popups are allowed through :)

i notice your location, lost season 3 starts soon, yay!
 
Ok as soon as Firefox 2 comes out i'll get both those programs :)

Yah i can't wait! Season 2 finale on tuesday it's going to be crazy!

Don't we have to wait a few months before we get to see season 3?

Season 3 started in US on 14th Sep. Not sure how long it will be until we get it though :(
