Windows needs to close programs to prevent information loss?

Sometimes get this message when I have a lot of tabs open in firefox, yet windows shows gigabytes of free RAM? Some kind of bug in Windows 7?

have you disabled your pagefile? regardless of how much ram you have, it is still required for windows to function properly.

Yeah because it uses loads of my space on my SSD by default. Surely though it shouldn't give such an erroneous error message if it is because of the pagefile, nor should a OS critical setting be user editable?

*sigh* I never have these kind of problems with linux.

because it's fine to disable it on one drive when you have multiple drives. either configure it to be on another drive or fix it at a smaller size on your SSD. 1-2GB should be fine.

Linux distros often give the user the option of manually partitioning a drive.

make a 2gb ram disk, that fools windows normally into being less of a whiney so & so.

I have a ramdisk but that space is even more precious than my SSD space, so adding a pagefile to it is the last thing I want to do.
