Windows not shutting down.

Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question. I have windows 7 64-bit installed and when I choose to shut windows down, it stays stuck at shutting down for about 20 mins and then restarts. I downloaded a program called whocrashed which checks the dump files and it says the issue could have been caused by a memory management error.

I have checked all of the drivers and they seem to be up to date. It shuts down without issue in safe mode. Any suggestions on where I might go from here?

Thanks I will check hijackthis. It's a brand new installation of Windows that hasn't yet been on the web so doubt it would be a malware issue.

Do you have an AMD gfx card? I've had issues like this before just after a fresh build, and disabling the audio devices for the AMD card seemed to sort it out.

Hi, yes I believe it is an r5450 gfx card installed. I will try that and see if it works. Thanks for the reply.
