hi guys would liek to pick ur brains im farely new to pc gaming i orginally built my pc with a 150gb ssd and put my files on a hdd i have recently upgraded to a 1tb ssd and done away with the small ssd and put windows and all my games and programs on this new 1tb ssd this was advised by a friend on here that said put it all together and just use hdd for storage but my other friend who built this pc said nooooo always have windows on its own.
What is best?

With an SSD it wont matter one bit. 1TB is plenty of space for Windows plus plenty of games and storage.

There is an advantage of having a second drive though, if you install windows onto your smaller drive, it would make it easier to reinstall windows in future as all your games and data would remain on the other drive.

But there would be no benefit to speed by having two drives.

awesome thank u for that obviously eventually i would want that ssd for windows then another ssd for games and programs purely for the making a reload easier then all my other stuff on a large hdd. i didnt buy a cheap ssd i got a samsung evo 850 i read there very good hoping that would be ok

Yup Samsung are great SSD's. I have a single 500GB SSD in my gaming PC, I put the old SSD into use in another machine.

Welcome to the forums btw :)

yup Windows OS on it's own drive, that way if you need to do a fresh install you just lose the OS data.
150GB is still plenty for OS SSD, I'm using a 64GB SSD for Windows 7 64 bit and have about 25-27GB free.

So you could still have the 150GB SSD for OS, and 1TB for games.

Depends, normally I would say, if you just started out new, just to use the 1tb SSD for everything, but seeing as you already have the os on the small SSD, it would make sense that you just keep it there and use the new 1tb SSD as your games and programs drive.

I had a 1tb SSD for everything then it started getting full so I recently upgraded to a evo850 250gb for my OS
