Hi,

I'm about to build a new PC which has a 120GB SSD and a 1TB HDD. Ideally i'd like to install windows 7 on the SSD and have the "Program Files" directories on the HDD. Is it possible to tell windows to move the Program files directory onto another drive ?

Install as many of your commonly used programmes as you can fit on the SSD, what's the point in having a fast drive with space and programmes which you use all the time on a slow drive?

just install on ssd as normal....then create a programe file folder on the harddrive....then just install progs to that....simples

yeah I'd keep stuff you always use on the ssd - browser etc. and other stuff on the other drive under program files...

Sorry for the bump.

I had the same problem a while back when I got my new SSD. I used this to help me move my Users and Program Files folders to my HDD and only have Windows + essential program files on C:\
