Windows serial question

Morning all,

I will be buying a new hard drive for my laptop later and will clearly need to reinstall Vista. Now, I have a CD for Vista which I gave to my brother along with the CD key for his PC. If I install Vista from the CD, will I be able to use the Serial key thats on the label on my latop?

OR would I be better of downloading Windows 7 for now?

As long as the key on your laptop is not the same key you gave your brother, then it should be fine.

Just be aware that telephone activation may be required where using a manufacturers OEM licence key. The process is staright forward and is self explanatory. I get this on all Dell laptops where I use my workshop disks.
