I'm testing an old Windows server 2008 box at home, is it fairly easy to get my documents and desktop to appear on an other workstation on the network?

I have my main pc with all my data, but I'd like to be able to login to the same account with my laptop and see the same desktop that appears on my pc.

Is it possible?

Thanks

You could use Skydrive and sync some folders.

Then use shortcuts on the Desktop to point to the Skydrive folder. It's a free tool from MS

If you're sticking wtih Windows server 2008 and using a domain you could look into group policy folder redirection to redirect the laptops folders to the server.

Downside is the server has to be on, that's why Bledd's suggestion is a little more elegant although it does offload your data to a third party. I use skydrive in the house and love it tbh.

Yes, its called roaming profiles and your client PC and laptop would need to be using the 'professional' version of Windows to be able to use them and also joined to the domain.
