Windows Server Licensing

I have a Licensing question and yes I did look in the Sticky but it didnt answer my question.

Do you have to renew server and cal licenses every year? if you do not plan on upgrading and do not want any of the pluses of upgrading?

They are OEM licenses being bought with the Server. So I think they should be ok.
