Hi, on my server i have decided that untill i get a new Hdd Windows Server 2003 is the way to go as i dont have enough space to back all data and format my hdd.

My server specs are as follows:
1.2ghz Celeron s
384MB SD Ram
250GB WD HDD
815i mobo

The problem is, i set up windows server 2003 (boot from cd, go through the formatting stages) but then when i restarted, there is nothing, the setup does not load, i dunno whats going on, computer restarts after setup, come to screen with blinking line in corner, but then nothing :(, any ideas whats wrong?

Is that HDD SATA? In BIOS, set the hard drive as first boot device as it could be sitting there looking for bootable media from either a floppy drive or an optical device :)

nooooo it's not sata lol, that motherboard is older than my grandad :P, hmm possibly, the CDROM is set to first boot device, thanks al just give it a try :)

At first they were not, slave was master, master was slave, i changed them, still not working :s, dunno if it could be the CD ROM or IDE cable, had a problem couple of months back were the HDD or even the CD ROM wouldent turn on and it was due to a damaged IDE cable, so i am going to try DVD-RW in morning and Different IDE cable, if all still does not work, i will try an evalutation of Server 2003 if there still is any available, as maybe the CD is damaged?

It was the HDD, i dunno whats up with it, partition magic shows it to be ok, it can install all the files onto it :s

Ok, i solved it, i found that all i had to do was make it an Active partition and boot partition too , working fine now , Is it possible to actually turn my Windows server on withought using a keyboard and mouse, i know this can be done with linux, everything starts automatically, and if any settings need changing i used Putty or somthing like that to change my settings, can this be done in windows?
