Simply put, does anybody know if TRIM does/doesn't work with software RAID arrays set up in disk manager?

Basically I have a server with space for three drives, one is used for the O/S, the other two are in a hardware RAID 1 array for redundancy, I am planing to replace the aging drives in the array (they are 5400RPM SATA I) and was thinking of SSD's but remembered the RAID controller couldn't pass the TRIM commands through, then I remembered about Windows software RAID ability which if it worked with TRIM would be a perfect solution.

Trim is only needed if an SSD is being thrashed to within an inch of its life. If you are giving it a normal workload, the drive will do background garbage collection by itself, regardless of whether it is in any sort of RAID array or not.
