Windows sidebar question

I was wondering if the windows sidebar in vista affects performance when gaming. Will it make a difference if i turn it off ?

Not sure how much memory it uses really, can't see it making any noticeable difference though?

I forget mine is on 'cus i have the "widgets" floating and not o nthe sidebar. No impact on gaming here

No, doesn't really affect it. Mine uses about 25mb of memory and my sidebar is full.

You can check both processes for it under task manager, one is for the gadgets themselves to do what they do and the other one is for the actual bar.

Mine uses about 33-50mb of ram, I aint bothered really, should be loaded into pagefile when gaming and the memory is needed so yea should have no impact.

i use the sidebar, if you're worried about memory hit, close it before gaming then reopen it again.

It had a massive Memory Leak in Beta testing, its plugged in RTM AFAIK
