Windows SSD urgent Help ???

Hi,

Just bought my brother a SSD and want to know how to get windows 7 file from is HDD to the news SSD.

Could any body help please I've download macrium software.

is the data on the hdd less than the size of the ssd? so that it can fit onto it

C dive = 547gb used from 1tb and the SSD is only 238gb

you need to reduce the c drive to less than 238gb so that the data will fit onto it

backup and games/films/music ect on there then delete it off then you can clone it across to the new ssd

can use this guide when your ready to clone

Ok just deleting some games hat he doesn't play on and trying get it down to below 238gb

ahh your ok then

earlier boards defaulted to ide sata mode which is slower,but yours will already be on faster ahci

you cant switch between the two either once windows is installed,you have to do clean install but your ok

EDIT: you might be better off doing a clean install on the ssd then sort out what you need off the hdd later?

Doing a fresh install now, Ive unplugged is hdd.
