Windows support Scam break down

The whole scam is very well organized and sounds like a proper call centre, i still dont get how people can fall for this scam, unless your elderly or have no common sense, have little knowledge with Windows.

It isn't that well organised. They mention they are from Windows support, and as soon as you say Microsoft don't call about these issues, they say "We're not from Microsoft, we're from Windows."

Told my parents about it and making sure they ignore it. Also, the fact that they don't block their number is totally stupid.
 
This is all older than the Ark, but...

I tell people not to accept any cold calls at all. A few oldies have got the idea now.
 
An interesting point to note is that if you take a note of the PIN for logmein, they will terminate the account for breach of ToS. That's probably worth doing to make their life harder.
 
this is so bizzarre as i came into work this morning walked into the office to take over one of the girls who works here was on the phone and our work pc she wispered me im on the phone to IT ok i said id it about the browser issues we have been having compatability issues with (basically we have onsite IT and a uk based central IT dept and a systems security office, but all the back office stuff is done in india) she said im not sure i cant hardly understand the guy but he is doing some stuff to our system. now, when we raise a service request they usually take remote access and do stuff thats the norm but as a looked at the screen i saw western union money transfer and anther site called micro resolve and they were using logmein also i imediatly thought thats not right and told her to keep them online and went up to the Tech guys upstairs and brough them down to look at it and the guy was trying to dload pc software solutions program on it but it wouldnt dload or install anything because on IT have admin rights on our systems, when the girl said she didnt have acces they asked for her supervisor and one of the IT uguys took the phone and went along with it asking them questions they said they were from IT etc and went thru all the junk spiel at the end anyway our pc is being sent to internal security division now and the drive analyzed and the whole thing investigated watch this space ive got some screen shots i will upload when i get home from work later poor girl tho was shaking after the call and really worried bout it.
 
I got a call from these guys once. Unlucky for them I had some bad gas that day ;) needless to say after constantly farting down the phone I havent heard back since :)

Never mind the scam. I nearly died trying to read that in one breath.
