Windows taking ages to load

Hi

did a fresh install of xp pro today and am now getting 30ish cycles of the bar before Windows finally loads. If someone could help and give some advice i'd be really grateful.

check your event logs (control panel > admin tools > event viewer) for anything timing out. If you count the seconds, and it ends on a whole number (eg 60,120,180 etc) then its probably a time out.

Also, unplug as many usb devices as poss, as they can do it sometimes. My keyboard (musical variety) is no good if its on when booting up.

hmm.... yes I do boot from the Raptor but with previous build it was fine and this is still loading games quickly etc (usually one of first to load a new map in cod2 mp) so think it must be xp linked. It seems to stop halfway through (with bar still scrolling) and then it will suddenly begin to load up again and finish completing the loading.
