Whenever I download files to my E: hard disk, the files are temporarily written to C:Windows/Temp (the SSD). I want this to stop... but can't sort it!

Have been into My Computer>Properties>Environment Values and changed all temp directories off the SSD to seperate HDD... but still writing temp files to SSD...

Any ideas please?

Don't worry about it, Your SSD will last for years even with a temp directory. And you'll see a significant decrease in performance moving it back to a mechanical drive.

I've moved mine off, but only because I had plenty of RAM that was underutilised so I shifted Temp and my browser caches onto a RAMdrive.

Really? I have it now moved to a WD Caviar Black drive, and Windows in general seems as quick as ever.

Surely just the way that SSDs currently work, the less unnecessary data written to them, the better?

Or maybe I just don't get it!
