Windows update doesn't turn on

I had some kind of virus on there but it won't allow me to turn Automatic update on, any ideas?

Restart the service from services.msc?

How do you do that, sorry I am a little slow went it comes to OS related problems

Start > Run > type 'services.msc' (without the quotes) and hit [ENTER].

Find 'Automatic Updates' and either press Start, or Restart.
