My XP Home machine was getting pretty slow, so last night I reformatted the hard disk and left Windows installing overnight. As of right now, I've got all my drivers loaded, with the exception of a Catalyst driver for my Radeon and the XP driver for my laser printer - will do those later.
My original Windows CD was SP1, but I have a Microsoft CD that installs the necessary updates for SP2, so I've run that and all seems fine.
When I connect to Windows Update, it shows 80-odd updates in the high-priority category. Basically, they download no problem but refuse to install - all I get in the way of an error message is a not-very-helpful 'A problem on your computer is preventing updates from being downloaded or installed' ...
Any ideas gents?
