Windows Update not working

Hi all,

I've just installed Windows 7 Pro on my PC. Went to run windows update and it wont do it brings back the error: "Code 80072EFE"

Apparently, this means the connection is being refused or some such. However browsing on the web works, the only error im getting from network centre is that it cannot auto-detect the networks proxy settings.

I also have a laptop (vista) plugged in to the same connection (they use a hub) and its using windows update fine.

I've checked and all adapter settings are the same, IE proxy settings are the same and now im out of ideas.

Any thoughts ?

Firewall?

I don't have one installed yet and i have tried with windows firewall off, no difference.

Check your date and time are correct, this can cause windows update to break.

Date and time are both correct, according to GMT online clock.

Also compared with laptop, they are both the same time.
