windows updates and restart freezing

hi guys my lad has windows 10 on his comp and for some reason when you click on updates it just keeps spinning and spinning and then it might find an update but not download it

also when restarting it takes ages to restart and sometimes pops up with an app is still running which is windows updates

also google chrome wont open lol

i know its all linked somehow because when we finally managed to get an update through everything worked fine lol


any ideas as to why it keeps freezing on the updates
