Can someone explain to me how or why this is so cheap?

Less than half the price from anywhere else. Even the full version isn't too expensive. Already ordered one just for the hell of it.

...because Home Basic is XP with a couple added features and things shuffled around

its so cut down its not worth changing over from XP
vista premium is the lowest version to get

But for £30 I think it's a steel. For people just using their puter for the net and music etc I think Home Basic is perfect for them. My mum can't tell the difference with aero on and off on my Home Premium install :eek:

For surfing and mp3s, XP is fine, so why would you spend another £30 on upgrading?

Ohh i didnt realise the one in the link was an upgrade, I thought it was £30 for the OEM Home Basic. Well, yep XP Home it is

And XP looks better than the dire mess of aero basic.

But then again, even aero looks dire tbh, I've grown to hate everything about that PC except for 1280x1024.
