I've recently replace my SATA WD hard drive with a SATA Hitachi, and I'm trying to get my old WD hard drive set up as a second drive. Ive left it in place and plugged it into the SATA 2 socket. When i start my computer, the BIOS recognises the second drive, so I've set up my Hitachi to boot up first (that has the windows installation on it). When I save the changes windows will only get as far as the scrolling green bar (vista 32-bit) and then the screen goes blank and it just hangs. But, if I switch off and disconnet the WD drive, the computer then boots and so does windows. I've checked that I don't have RAID enabled, and I would like to knwo if there is a setting in the BIOS I'm missing, as there is stuff on the WD drive that I want to rescue (I can't use the WD drive to boot from as the windows installed on it is corrupted and the vista disk wont fix it).
