Windows won't connect to some sites

Windows will not let me connect to some pages, yet it will others. For example I cannot connect to Facebook. Yet if I try on another computer at the same time and connected to the same router, it works.

I have tried completely uninstalling ESET and I still can't connect. I even reinstalled ESET but no joy.

The message I get from Firefox is "Unable to connect - Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at ...". Internet Explorer also will not load and gives the mssage "This page can’t be displayed - Make sure that the web address ... is correct."

This seems to mostly affecting https sites, yet I can access these forums fine.

Short of reinstalling, any suggestions?

Try disabling the https checks or the whole web component and go from there?

I think I have the http checks disabled myself as it wasn't working correctly.

Are you using noscript? or an ad blocker - something seems to be going a bit weird with firefox (doesn't matter what version) and some sites recently - almost to the point I wonder if there is some kind of traffic interception or something going on that is messing with it (I'm not the only one seeing it). Disabling certain scripts can fix it but previously they used to work fine and even force reverting them doesn't make it function. Could simply be some problem in the BT network as well.

Time and date are fine. I've created a fresh Firefox profile, but still the same results so I've reverted to my previous profile.

This is happening with Internet Explorer too. www.currys.co.uk won't work either.

My bad just seen this.Is the router restricting traffic to the computer?I have seen Eset do this but you have tried with it uninstalled already I see.
