Windows wont install

refer to your mother boards manual to be sure, but I would just look for ddr vdimm - I think its in the chipset menu.

ok thanks i have now manage to get windows installed but it seems to freeeze odd times of shutting down or half way doing an install of a program the screen goes blank and the keyboard and mouse lights go out

if i reboot its ok then for a bit until it has a problem loading windows and doesnt get to the desktop i reboot again and its ok for a bit.

i had it with 2 then added the four in but memtest couldnt seem to find much wrong with them

have you come acorss this before

Not personally, but it seems common on these forums. Most of the time (if it is indeed memory related), an increase in volts fixes the problem (unless the memory is faulty). I was just in my bios earlier resetting everything (as I flashed my bios), but even though I changed the DDR voltage setting I dont remember what it was called LOL! Must have been on auto pilot.

What motherboard are you using? The best thing to do is look in the motherboard manual under the bios section, and look for the DDR2 referece voltage bit. Or tell us your motherboard model and I/someone else will be able to find out where it is in your bios on an online manual.

i have found out where it is now and increased the voltage by 0.1v and was going to do it in bits till it was ok.

I dont wanan increase it to much incase it does damage to it.
