I just put in new hardware into my computer (motherboard, ram and processor) and now windows won't boot. The windows loading screen shows about about a second freezes then a blue screen pops up for about a quarter of a second then the computer restarts. I have run start up repair many times and now it just says that there is no solution. Starting windows in safe mode just blue screens for about a quarter of a second as well. What can I do to fix it (I'm using Ubuntu at the moment).

Check your cpu temps and voltage, BSOD's have always troubled me when I've messed about with voltages. That's what I'd do anyway. Good luck and merry Christmas!

they should be at stock as i havn't played with the bio at all

*EDIT* is there a way without reinstalling windows?

You'd have to install all your old hardware, get onto the HDD and delete everything to do with that hardware hand hope for the best, probably wont work then either.

Hopefully your not going from AMD to Intel.

Into any search boxes look for your previous Mobo make/ model, also any HDD compatibility software, GPU software. Your basically erasing everything apart from windows.

Tbh, id just back up all your important documents. programs etc and do a fresh install. It'll save you from issues that may pop up due to incompatibility.

IIRC if you contact Mircosoft, they can get your product key you had installed and give it you for when you do a clean install, this obviously means having to get into windows and onto the internet for them to scan the computer.

Get in with someone and buy a 3 computer version of windows....there are student software sites also if you are/ know of any students.
And no a restoration disk wont work.
