I'm having a problem with one of the PCs running XP that is connected wirelessly to to my Linksys WRT54GL router. I've disabled SSID broadcasting on it however after I reboot that PC, it's unable to find the wireless network even though the "connect even if the network is not broadcasting" is enabled by default. My wireless network is the preferred network in XP and XP also stores the SSID name
I ran into another problem where Windows XP did not support WPA2 encryption and I found out that I needed this patch that didn't appear in Windows Update. Not only I needed that update, I needed this patch as well which enables the "connect even if the network is not broadcasting" feature.
My Vista PC doesn't have this problem, it connects fine with SSID broadcasting disabled
Has anyone had this problem before?
