Windows XP Clock

Basically every time I turn my PC on, it is roughly the same time as when i turned it off.

Would I be right in guessing the battery on the motherboard is at fault?

If so how easy are these to get hold of and replace?

you should be able to get them from most electronic shops as they are standard batterys. I would try would u have mentioned first as they are quite easy to change. You will also need to put back all the bios settings again as these get reset.

As I haven't changed any settings apart from boot priority, will the settings rollback to default or do I have to back them up?

i think it resets it back to default settings and u will need to change the time and date

If your quick the residual charge sometimes holds the bios settings intact, but as stated it's no biggie to reset them to what you want.

That's fine if it rolls back to default, I just didn't want to mess about backing up BIOS.

I'll get this sorted in the next few days.
