Windows XP Help Needed

Hi Guys

I don't post too often, but was wondering if someone could help me out with a problem please.

I have just returned home from Uni for Easter and (stupidly) offered to sort out my sisters laptop. I just installed Windows XP Professional with SP2 but I get a message on starting the computer up that I have never seen before.

Please select the operating system to start:

Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

Yes she did have Windows XP Home on the laptop first, but I could have sworn I formatted the C drive, deleted all partitions and then created a brand new partition that I installed XP Professional on.

Clearly I have made a mistake somewhere along the line and was wondering if there was a way for me to get rid of the XP Home Edition from the laptop without having to do everything all over again as I have spent most of this afternoon updating drivers, updates online, installing software etc.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Marco

Go to run then type Msconfig, then goto the Boot.ini tab, you should be able to delete the Home Edition entry from there.

Thanks for that.

I see what that brings up and I'll go try it in a second. Before I do, is there any chance you could talk me through it briefly so I don't screw anything up?

I can't see a delete button anywhere or any options that appear if I right click. Only options to move up or down list!

Cheers for this by the way! :o)

Just click the Check All Boot Paths button and it should delete the path doesn't check out.

Yeah i figured it, it just kept putting it back automatically when i put it back to normal boot, so i just left it on custom now
