Right guys...

My friends computer is all running ok...

He turns his comp off, goes to bed and all is fine.

He then gets up in the morning, turns his computer on and is presented with: Disk Boot Error, Please insert system disk and press enter

his BIOS is all fine and picks up the HDD etc...

So... we stick in the XP disc and all is fine.

2 Days later the computer does the same thing... we once again fix the problem and all is fine.

4 days later... again!!!!

He is shutting down fine etc... what could be the cause of the problem dudes?

I need an answer by 12:00 lol as im going round to see if i can fix for once and for all.

The first thing that comes to my mind is failing Hard Disk or a virus that keeps being picked up. More likely the first option tbh.

How would i test to see if this is the problem? I know how to test a HDD but the problem is intermittent and the HDD works more often than it doesnt. But when it doesnt he hasnt got a clue how to fix even though i tell him.
