Depends on the motherboard, if it is Nforce4 based(or any AM2?) or Intel based(i.e. pretty much any socket 775 motherboard) then you shouldn't need to install SATA drivers unless you are setting up a Raid array.

Yep, pretty much, you may have to check in the bios to see if there is a setting like "IDE compatability mode" as that might need to be set to on but you shouldn't need any drivers.
