Hey guys,
I recommissioned a fairly old xp machine last night for a family friend and ran windows update as a matter of course. It only had about 15 updates to install which it did and that was that, I installed them and shut down.
I booted up this morning for a few last checks and I noticed the little yellow shield in the system tray notifying me of updates... it was for a security update for .net framework 1.1 and it had failed to install on the last attempt
Thing is, I checked and I have .net 4.0 installed so there probably isn't any reason for a security update for 1.1 to be installed is there? I've hidden the update for now because I don't want the users to keep trying to install it!
Any ideas?
