windows7 hdd?

i tryed windows 7 on my pc the other week my os hdd got a rating of 3

has anyone managed to get 7.9 or close and if so what??

only thing that let my system down was the hdd and the 4870 gfx

what hard drive do you have?

try defragging

shouldnt need defragging on a fresh install surely

you're joking right? after a fresh install is the most vital time to defrag.

i've seen loads of PC's that've had windows installed and then not defragged. they all ended up bluescreening on boot about a day or two later!

defragging the disks solved the problem completely.

i heard windows 7 just copied files to the hard disk when instaling (rather than xp which copies everything and then installs it). so shouldn't need a defrag.

I have a Raptor 150GB running in AHCI mode as my Windows 7 boot disk and get a hard drive score of 6, was a bit disappointed but by the looks of some of the other results I guess it ain't too bad....

My 500GB Seagate 7200.11 (32MB cache) aka ST3500320AS got 5.9 in Win7 :confused:

I'm still eyeing up 2x 1TB F1s for RAID0 though

EDIT: Just read the deathstar thread. Perhaps 2x WD Caviar Blacks after all LOL
