this is probably nothing but I have been having some kind of bug/glitch happen when logging in to windows8. I have to enter my password twice, 1st time it says password is incorrect, but it isn't! then the 2nd time it works.

any ideas?

Wait half a second after the password field appears. I thought I was going mental but there's a delay on the keyboard input for some insane reason.

Mine is the same. Its actually really annoying.

You eventually get into a habit of pausing, but it still catches you out every now and then.

While I can understand why Microsoft forced the Modern GUI on everyone, this little cover over the lock screen really is the sort of thing which should have an option to turn it off.

Mine is instant. Do you have 3rd party keyboard drivers or something?

Seeing as I use the keyboard to get the picture to slide away, it's not that. It's the animation taking a split second longer than it appears, so if you were to start typing immediately after the slide fully disappears, you'll miss the first character or 2.

It's just the timing of the animation is ever so slightly off. If anything you typed while the animation was active actually registered it wouldn't be an issue.

Same issue here, I've got into the habit of clicking the mouse button to get to the login screen instead of pressing a key as that gives me a slight delay (just long enough) before I type in the password.
