Windscreen icing up on the inside....help please...

Yes, the temp seems fine!

in which case you should be able to get hot air throough the interior heater. direct that onto the windows and off you go. drive with the window open slightly otherwise youll bake in there, and go for a long drive

it should eventually stop steaming up. you also clean/polish up the glass too, i find that helps condensation clear up in the future

if your mats are sodden, take them out and dry them

Thanks for all the replies guys - I think I'll just have to stick with the dealer to see if they can sort it!

I doubt anything is wrong with the car my grilfriend had this when the winter nights started it was simply moisture in the car.

I dryed out the car mats and boot carpet in the house. With the ice on the windscreen rather than scrape it off I heated the car up and dryed the windows off with a towel to remove the moisture from the car. Also heated the car up to get the moisture in the air then opened the car windows to remove it from the cabin. Since then she has not had any problems with ice in the morning even on a couple of nights when it was down to -15c.

lol, yep... I would hope they would laugh at you, but i suspect Matt82 is right. They will charge you for all kinds of checks, and changing seals, etc. Then inform you its fixed, when all they have done is dry out the mats in the bogs under the hand dryer!

Do you use the air con much? Worth leaving on really. Although obviously there are probably other issues too.

I've got one of these under the seat in my car.

After a couple of days, it obviously did the job, no more iced up windscreen/rear window and hardly any more steamed up windows!

Thanks again for all the replies guys - I really appreciate the suggestions!

For those who have mentioned the car steaming up and trying to get the dealer to sort it - I'm not an idiot - if you read my posts the issue is that there is a layer of ICE on the inside of the windshield!!!

I've had several cars and this has never happened before on any of them so I assume its a fault somewhere!!

Yep, my MX5 had this as my roof/window seals were leaking. I had fixed it but I kept getting ice on the inside due to not getting chance to properly dry everything. After running the air con and leaving the roof up for a while it's cleared up.

Either you have water coming in or have got excessive water in when opening the door in snow/rain. It'll usually just be condensation but overnight this freezes hence your problem.
