Morning all,

GF had a new windscreen supplied by her insurers after a crack formed in the last one, it was supplied and fitted by auto glass.

When it was fitted, it looked a bit cloudy and we thought it just needed a clean, anyway after a good clean it's still cloudy and cleaning the outside and inside of the glass makes no difference at all, so it seems like the cloudy stuff is in-between the glass somehow, maybe its the laminate inside?

Anyway, I'm assuming she needs to contact the insurance company directly for this and not auto glass as they arranged it all? It's so cloudy it makes it extremely dangerous to drive especially in the low sun where its noon impossible to look through.

TIA for any help/advice.

Jake

Contact autoglass and explain it looks like the glass is delaminating. They will send a warranty tech to remove it and refit and new one.

Unfortunately things like this aren't always noticed but they will be happy to resolve the issue for you

I had mine replaced by auto windscreens and needed it changing as it didn't fit properly, I called them and they just replaced it again no questions asked.

I had issues with AW replacing the windscreen on my MR2 after a chip. After 3 attempts (the beading kept unsealing), they changed the glass they were using... and it still wasn't perfect.

Really poor but decent customer service.

They don't use any primers on the glass or the aperture. You can tell a screen had been done in the past by AW as you can usually peel the glue away instead of having the cut it back
