Sorry guys this is going to be a bit of a rant, but I had my windscreen changed due to a crack on Saturday. I can't decide if I'm being a bit too fussy, as I did it through my insurance as it's wasn't too bad cost wise but are all companies this poor, I've had the following issues;

Initially told it would be 60-90 mins, then took them almost 3.5 hours.
Let the cameras recalibrate (it's a Tesla so easy to do), then found the cameras weren't happy, turns out the cameras weren't at the correct angle so I had to adjust them myself.
And finally this morning found that they've broken one of the clips that holds the drivers sun visor.

I'm. Little bit annoyed at the poor workmanship, I even noticed that the inside of the screen is dirty on the passenger side (I assumed they would give it a wipe down when done). I'm going to order a new clip as they are pretty cheap, but I'm annoyed they didn't mention anything as it would impossible not to not it broke when they moved it.
Again sorry for the rant, just needed opinions on if this is the standard level of work these days?

Its random luck if a moron turns up.

The guy who turned up at my house said that he did not have the correct rubber seal, something was missing or wrong anyway.

So he said he could not do it at all and did not know when he could come back lol.

Then he phoned his boss for ages to see if they even had the part, luckily they did have it and he came back the next day.

The glass was dirty when he had finished, I felt like he left in a rush.

That was the UK`s leading company who are on the TV adverts all the time.

I never had a windscreen replaced, but I had a stone chip repaired via insurance.
The guy was very professional and he cleaned my screen before and after the service.
I think it always depends of the person, some people care to go the extra mile, some don't.

thought my last Aviva policy had an excess for their fitter and your nominated (attentive) fitter - something like 75/150

last one I had done 10yrs ago I payed ~£120 for oem and I didn't involved insurance, I'd broken it, and I forget maybe thought might influence subsewquent premium

Had mine replaced the beginning of the year, dropped it off at the workshop at 9am, as I only work 15 min walk from them.
Had a call around 11.30am to say it was ready. This included all the relevant camera calibrations etc.

Paid £450 to get 2 pros with decades of experience do mine as insurer would only use a clone windscreen not the OEM low acoustical noise part as Renault wanted £2572 for it LOL found the same part trade for £700 got 2 local pros to do it only took them 20 mins or so.

Always check your insurance small print as many will only do the clone made in china glass not the OEM one! Some cars they have no choice as no clone available but many will use the clone non OEM part hope you do not notice or question it.

Yeah all luck of the draw. I had mine done by autoglass about 3 years ago. The chap that came out was great and even told me he hid the dashcam wiring in the trimming
