With today's games it's really hard to even know when you've completed a gameUm, you don't 'win' upon completion of an SP game, you complete it.

After all there's the first ending, the 2nd ending, the 3rd-6th endings, and the super-secret best ending. Of course you need to beat the game on all the difficulty settings in order to get the best ending.
Then there's the post-game, the achievements, the "find all the crap for 100%" marlarky... And I've even played a couple where 100% isn't 100%...
And there's so many games competing for limited time...
Now I've never cared about beating all the difficulties. I choose one and try not to change it mid-way through. Once I've beat it on my chosen difficulty I almost never go back and replay it on a harder mode. But of course the Ubermensch will say you haven't completed it at all if you've just beaten "normal" setting, you wimp. You casual.
Then there's the 100% stuff. Why would I bother? There's so many games on my "to do" list, why would I even contemplate finding and collecting all the dancing bananas you've hidden throughout the world? Yeah, not a chance.
These days I play until I feel I'm not playing for enjoyment, but because I'm getting hung up on beating something and have stopped having fun in the process. Along similar lines, I've also learned to stop watching a film half-way through if it's naff. Too little time to give everything the full 90 mins

As for MP... I don't. Games are my escape, and it's hard to feel like you've escaped when you're surrounded by loud, angry gibbons
