Winter tyres

Anyone have any recommendations for Winter tyres? Are they even worth it?

Because I want up to date information. If I wanted to search for something from 2006 I'd use google.

You wont find much on here from 2006 about winter tyres because 2006 pre-dates the winter tyre fad in the UK

Show me then 'cos I don't believe there's anything that answers my question.
